Hi everyone!
So as many of you would know I participated in the World's Greatest Shave 2008 for The Leukaemia Foundation. Ever 2 hours someone dies from Leukaemia related cancers in Australia, and every hour of every day someone is diagnosed.
It was an epic campaign that went on for all of February and March. Videos on YouTube, lots of emails, a Facebook group, stunts and competitions contributed to building hype about the charity and the event, but more significantly to build awareness of the cause and the charity.
On March 15th my hair (2 years of growth) was shaved off, at a public shaving event at Warringah Mall in Manly. The Manly Daily (local newspaper) was there for photos, the MC team and some other cool people from Sydney (Chena & Jake!) and my family (they surprised me!) came down to see it!! It was awesome.
I'm actually going to bank money in an hour or so and that will bring the final tally just under $2,900! The goal of $2,000 was SMASHED!! So excited, so proud, so honoured.
